So America has elected its first black - or African-American - president. I am deeply moved watching people's reactions.. how proud and happy they are. How hopeful. How some of them, even though they voted, did not believe this would happen in their lifetime. This confirms that racial issues are still very much alive in America and yet, at the same time, that they are not as bad as people used to think they were. It looks very much like a time of change for America.. another step towards democracy and a better future. I hope Obama will work hard and will not disappoint all those who are now celebrating his election. (image by cnn.com)
