Sick again

I took a brisk walk to work today, actually only half of the way, because I was running a bit late and I thought my own feet would get me there faster than traffic. But they didn't, and I developed a fever soon afterwards. Luckily it's not very bad so I was able to work. I'm just not as perky as I'd want to be. Taking aspirin.

After I returned home I was chopping wood in the basement for my stove and sent one of the pieces flying right into my face. It struck me on the browbone to the side of my right eye. Left a small red mark, no bruise or cut. I am glad that it missed the eye because it was a thin and very sharp pointed piece of dry wood meant for starting the fire. It's the first time it's ever happened to me. The large pieces are not prone to jumping high because they are too heavy but the thin ones are really treacherous, springing to where you least expect them. I guess I should start using some sort of eye protection.

Ah, but a facial scar has it's own allure, no?

While I might not mind a small scar, particularly on someone else's face, a missing/blind eye seems just too daring..
