I like to think this is iris pallida, commonly known as sweet iris, however if indeed it is I don't know. I bought it unnamed and have had it for at least ten years now, multiplying freely. It does well in considerable shade and the flowers have the nicest, light, fruity smell.
The stalks are tall and quite many, the flowers are small but of a gorgeous, bright, bluish lavender color. They stand out from a distance, particularly well against a dark background.
